The world is coming to Eugene, Oregon.

On July 22, 2014, more than 2,500 track and field athletes from around the world will gather at UO’s very own Hayward Field to compete in the IAAF World Junior Championships. This marks the first time that the event will be held in the United States or on a university campus.

The 2014 World Junior Championships bring together the top international youth athletes (19 years old or younger) for one week of competition, cultural exchange, and the chance to earn a place in future Olympics.Watched around the globe, the event is expected to attract 300 international media crews to Eugene, Oregon.

The University of Oregon welcomes the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF), athletes, sponsors, coaches, families, and media.

As part of this momentous event, the university’s Office of International Affairs, Global Studies Institute is hosting the first ever UO Global Expo, as a way for our university to demonstrate the amazing research, faculty expertise, and academic excellence of the University of Oregon.

We need your help to show the best of our university.

We are reaching out to every corner of campus to showcase our global excellence.

If you know of any talented international students or students with international experience who would be excellent representatives of our university, encourage them to become a UO Ambassador. UO Ambassadors who volunteer their language and cultural competency skills will be matched with Junior World Championship country delegations and will serve as very important representatives during the event.

Please tell us about faculty and departments engaged in meaningful projects or research around the world. We’d like to share our university’s global expertise with everyone via large digital world map displays dispersed throughout the UO Global Expo venues. This site will serve as a hub of information, updates and events that will be featured as part of the UO Global Expo.

All roads will meet here.
